We absolutely
loved "A Musical Feast!" The meal was wonderful and the music was tasty,
too. Seriously, the musicianship -- variety of styles and performance quality
was superb. Who could ask for anything more?

The
purpose of this is to comment on the recent appearance of The Council Oak Mens
Chorale at Trinity Episcopal Church's "Tuesdays" series November 29. Under the strong, but sensitive direction of their able conductor, Andre Martin, these men displayed an ensemble of exemplary balance (i.e. , TTBB), sure intonation, creative programming and superb attention to text, as in John Leavitt's "Ose Shalom," which demonstrated the sturdier attributes of their unapologetic masculine sound and Franz Biebl's moving "Ave Maria," a crowd pleaser. The listener, especially in this wonderful polyphonic gem, was caught up in every word these men sang with shaded beauty wrought with their voices alone. The City of Tulsa should be proud of this arts ensemble, and for the contribution they make to its musical heartbeat.

I
am Victoria Spiegel, John Spiegel's sister. I had the great privilege
of hearing you on Saturday evening for the first time. John gave me
a ticket as an early Christmas gift and with my sister, Debbie, and a mutual
friend, the three of us greatly enjoyed your concert. I especially loved
your Hebrew song. Your Hebrew was perfect. I spent a great
many years living in New York City and have had a lot of exposure to Judaism
and Hebrew hymns. The Mexican "Hallejuha" Chorus at the end was a
perfect ending to a perfect evening. Thank you again for a wonderful performance. It
was greatly enjoyed by myself, my family and friend, and I am sure by everyone
else. I hope to hear you again very soon.
Happy Holidays,
Victoria Spiegel

I
want to thank COMC for putting on SUCH a WONDERFUL show with Sing For The Cure
as well as Songs Of Faith, performed at Higher D. I live in Nashville,
and that's around a 684 mile drive, of which I drove to see Songs of Faith, but
flew out to see Sing! and I have to say, the drive was worth every mile. My
best friend Alex Hatfield is a member, and seeing him enjoy himself so, moves
me. All of your members enjoy and sound so wonderful. I've
never been to such events before, and I'm astounded each time I see COMC, they
just get better and better. I will definately be back to see COMC
in the future, weather permitting will drive out in December too!

I want you to
know that it is my privilege to sing with your group. As my friends,
you all have more heart and soul than even some of the people in my church. Yes,
I have gay friends, and nobody can tell me I can, or can't. I'll have
you know not one person from my church attended. Afterwards, I went
to the lobby and saw all of you guys with family and friends, hugging and kissing,
in joyous celebration of the cause that unites us all, and I had no one there
to greet me. But I'm ok with that because Jesus was there with me,
what could be better than that. Fly your colors with pride because
you should be proud of your accomplishments as men! Take care and God bless.

I
wanted to express once again my appreciation for the beautiful concert on Saturday
night. I had heard how moving and beautiful it is, and you certainly
didn’t disappoint me in that regard. I was so glad to be there
and to be involved in such a wonderful project. Of course, I always
love your concerts, and plan to attend whenever possible. Please
give my thanks and warm wishes to the other COMC guys, and I hope to see you
both soon! Take care,

I just wanted to say,
both personally and on behalf of the Susan G. Komen Foundation Board
in Tulsa, thanks for a wonderful "Sing. " What an awesome, moving
performance, and to think that I left my handkerchief and Kleenex at home! That
gospel number toward the end was an absolute showstopper. The whole
evening was a treat, and we are most grateful for all of the time and hard work
Council Oak put into the performance. Please pass my thanks along to your
Board and the members of the Chorale. We appreciate your service to
Komen, breast cancer survivors and the Tulsa community.

Just wanted to say a
huge congratulations on a superb concert! Sing For the Cure was breathtaking,
emotional, stunning. Singers, narrators, musicians, all performed
to perfection. If
there were any glitches, they were absolutely not noticeable or distracting. Smooth
job, wonderful evening. Greg Davis, you're fabulous. I
talked today to another friend who went, who was also overwhelmed by the concert. She
also is a Glen Jones admirer, and hopes he is getting the attention she believes
he so richly deserves. I'll stop before it become too excessive. However,
please read this message as if it were underlined, bolded and with exclamation
points behind every sentence. Thanks to all for your hard work and
for a wonderful evening.

Dear Men of Council Oak, A huge thank you to each and every one of you who
took the time to bring your fantastic talent to the library! What a fantastic
concert!! The audience absolutely loved it and it was definitely the highlight
of Diversity Celebration 2004 for many of us. You guys are the greatest
and we love you all.
